IMMEDIATE RESPONSE | ESMERALDAS AND MANABI PROVINCE
Ecuador Earthquake Response

On April 16, a 7.8 magnitude earthquake and violent aftershocks occurred in Ecuador destroying roads, bridges, and power supplies to the regions surrounding the Esmeraldas and Manabi province. The damage to the country’s infrastructure appears unprecedented, with over 20,000 people left without homes. The death toll reached 660; more than 2,500 people have been injured.

VSI had the pleasure of serving with All Hands Ecuador. The picture shows Barry with several of the volunteers, who come from all around the world. Some of the All Hands volunteers from Ecuador have already left to begin serving in Haiti after a hurricane devastated the island. If you ever have an urge to serve internationally, this group will give you an opportunity to do so.

All Hands Volunteers serve disaster relief all over the world. Take a look at their website to learn more.  Click here to visit their site.
