One of the goals of VSI has been to speak directly with community leaders of Nicaragua, to better understand what their perception of Domestic Violence is, and what they believe can change the culture. North Country Mission of Hope provided an opportunity for VSI to speak with 10 barrio leaders, called Juntas. The Juntas completed a questionnaire, and then discussed the results with VSI. All agreed there is a huge need for the creation of small groups, an advocacy centers, and shelters to protect those who are in eminent danger.
